A sustainable and inclusive vegetable garden

Our circular economy program helps combat waste by transforming scraps into compost. This compost is then used by the San Gottardo Foundation's beneficiaries to grow the vegetables for I Due Sud in "our" garden, located just a few kilometers from Lugano.

1887, La Splendida: an anti-waste beer

Brewed in collaboration with Officina della Birra in Bioggio—the first company to revive beer production in Ticino in 1999—"1887 La Splendida" is a sustainable lager made using surplus bread from our kitchens. This initiative transforms food waste into a high-quality craft beer, embodying our commitment to circular economy principles.

Honey and jams from Fattoria OTAF

Since 2023, linden and chestnut honey from the OTAF Foundation, along with their jams, have been part of I Due Sud's offerings. Hotel Splendide employees dedicate volunteer days at Fattoria OTAF, which is managed by individuals with diverse abilities.
