Normandy D-Day tour
Your licensed Museum Docent and art historian will meet you in the lobby of your hotel at 7:00am, and drive a luxury car through the beautiful and hilly Normandy country side. During the drive you will learn it all about the region, and start to get a whole recap of the 2nd world war.
After a coffee break in the 10th century village of Bayeux located in Calvados area, and after having a look at its Cathedral achieved in the 15th century, you will arrive at 10:30 in Omaha beach, for you to walk on the sand while remembering what happened there on the 6th of June 1944.
Then after 10 more minutes drive, you will arrive at Colleville-sur-Mer, where the American cemetery is settled. First you will visit the little memorial Museum at your own pace, one of the best memorials of all the sites in Normandy, and after that your guide will take you through the Cemetery, located just above Omaha Beach.
At 12:30, road to Arromanches, where a temporary harbour was settled, and where you can still see the huge concrete blocks coming out of the middle of the sea, build by the allies. Lunch with view at the sea, or in the little streets of the town to enjoy Normandy specialities, such as crepes, moules-frites, calvados, andouillette or reverse cooked apple pie. After your lunch, short 20mn drive to see bunkers that where parts of the Atlantic wall, with the canons inside.
Road back to Paris and end of the tour at 7pm at your hotel.
